Lights, Camera, Action!

That's right -- it's movie time! This is the time of year where we don't just watch movies in the confines of our living rooms but outdoors on the Big Square!

Summer has begun and so has this season's Movies on the Square in Redwood City’s delightful Courthouse Square.

Billing it as our community’s living room, it’s time to clear your Thursday evenings beginning at sundown (approximately 8:45 p.m.) to spend time with your neighbors and be entertained by one of 14 free movies through Aug. 31.

This year, we're extremely excited to announce that Dwell Realtors is the Family category sponsors this summer – Family category starts tomorrow with Trolls!

For those who haven’t seen Trolls, it’s an animated musical that brings about some of our favorite jams.

There are a limited number of chairs and tables available so come early to get the best seats. Redwood City’s high definition surround sound 25’ outdoor theater shows movies in high definition Blu-Ray and Surround sound when available.

Bring blankets and pick up some take-out from some of our amazing restaurants in the downtown corridor. But if you choose to eat out early, take advantage of a small on-site snack bar that sells popcorn, waters and movie candy.

The schedule for Movies on the Square include a variety of other box-office favorites:

June 22: Passengers, PG-13

June 29: Sully, PG-13

July 6: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, PG-13

July 13: Doctor Strange, PG-13
July 20: The Princess Bride PG-13

July 27: Moana, PG

Aug. 3: La La Land, PG-13

Aug. 10: Finding Dory, PG

Aug. 17: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, PG-13

Aug. 24: Dirty Dancing, PG-13

Movies aren’t the only thing happening on the Square this summer. To continue its yearlong celebration of the city’s 150th Anniversary, the Redwood City is hosting numerous concerts throughout the city and on the Square, Chalk on the Square, Art on the Square, Children’s Events, and also its annual July 4 celebration and parade, that’s sure to be extraordinary again this year. For more information on the city’s weekly events, go to http://redwoodcity.org/residents/redwood-city-events/city-events-calendar. And be sure to check out our blog next week, as we will showcase the numerous concerts in the parks in your city!

For now, we hope to see you out tomorrow night as we sponsor Trolls!

See you at the Movies!
