Halloween is upon us! Halloween Happenings for everyone!

This morning there was certainly an October chill in the air before the sun rose and warmed us all up. All over the Mid-Peninsula, skeletons are making their annual debut and orange pumpkins are dotting porches throughout neighborhoods – another indication that Halloween is upon us! 

And with the official start of “The Holidays,” there are many family-friendly events you around the Peninsula that you won’t want to miss!

In San Carlos, despite the famed Goblin Walk along Laurel Street, children and parents alike will flock the two-block stretch of ever-seasonal Eucalyptus Street to see what ghouls, zombies and other freaky findings might appear there Halloween night. 

The San Carlos Goblin Walk will take place on Oct. 27 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Laurel Street in the city’s downtown corridor. Have your children (under 7 years old) don costumes and bring an adult to trick-or-treat at any business displaying a Goblin Walk sign. The first trick-or-treaters will receive a Goblin Walk treat bag at Harrington Park (midblock) from any Goblin Walk volunteer. Questions? Contact Goblin Walk coordinators at (650) 802-4382.

Also in San Carlos on Oct. 28 is a Halloween Haunted Hangar at San Carlos Airport.  Officials there are inviting the whole family to come and meet the airport’s flying witch and navigate creepy turns and spooky corridors to reach the flying witch’s freaky hideout. Soar With Books reading program will be presenting an exciting show and pumpkins will be dropped from helicopters, making this event something you won’t want to miss. Event runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Belmont is inviting residents to get spooky at the Oct. 29 Farmers’ Market! A costume celebration for all ages will take place, with a chance to win an array of prizes, including a basket of fresh market produce! There will be pumpkin decorating and more festive opportunities, so come on down!

In Burlingame, come on downtown for the Second Annual Fall Fest on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29. This free event is on Howard Avenue from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Come and listen to live music, enjoy food trucks, beer garden and a free kids zone. This event is sponsored by the Downtown Burlingame Improvement District – DBID. 

The Not-So-Scary Halloween Magic Show will take place on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Burlingame Public Library at 480 Primrose Ave. Dress in your costume and be ready to consume some treats and laugh during this silly Halloween show. 

Also at the Burlingame Public Library on Oct. 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., kids are invited to come and paint pumpkins and make seasonal crafts on the front porch of the library. 

Redwood City will hold its annual Spooktakular event with carnival games, a parade, a Mystery Monster Maze, fall festive crafts, treats, prizes and more. This event will take place Oct. 21 at noon and go to 3 p.m. at Red Morton Community Center. The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Children aged 10 and under are welcome. Admission is $5 per child. 

The Redwood City Parks and Recreation Center is also hosting an event for kids ages 5-11 years old called Chills and Thrills on Oct. 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kids can make creepy crafts, enjoy a frightful dessert and play ghoulish games. Teens in grades 6th through 12th are welcome to come hang out, eat popcorn and candy and enjoy a Halloween-themed movie marathon beginning at 3 p.m. Halloween night. The fun will go until 8 p.m. at the Downtown Library Teen Center, located on the second floor, 1044 Middlefield Road. 

Fiesta de Halloween will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Fair Oaks Branch Library, located at 2510 Middlefield Road. Join friends for fun Halloween activities and crafts!

Foster City will hold a Halloween Party at the Vibe, Teen Center on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be food, games arts and crafts and more! This event is designed for preschoolers through fifth grade! For more information contact the VIBE at 650-286-3254.
